How do I reference to a file using a dos volume label?
Need to reference to a USB Disk's Volume Label that changes drive letters.
I need to be able to make a shortcut that will reference to a volume label or name instead of a drive letter

It depends on your OS, but, basically if you use the disk management tools to assign an ID and shut down and remove the USB disk using the task bar, then when you reinstall the device it should resume to have the assigned drive ID. Do not "zap" the drive by shutting down or restarting Windows without "Safely Removing Hardware." I have not tested this. I read this from a couple of techie sites.
